Thermal Diffusivity
Thermal diffusivity is a material property which describes the rate at which heat flows through a material, typically measured in mm²/s or in²/hr. This property is commonly used in conjunction with other thermodynamic properties to estimate the cooling time of molten plastic in the injection molding process. If the value for thermal diffusivity is unknown it can be calculated from the thermal conductivity, density, and specific heat capacity of the material.
